about pacific tradesman
Meet your tradesman, Thomas. Originally from Maine, I found my way, via a very circuitous route, to Washington in 2003 chasing mountains. During, and prior to a 20 plus year international career as a mountain guide I spent a lot of time swinging a hammer in some pretty exotic locations.
I built and serviced alpine huts in New Zealand, Washington and Alaska. I worked with renowned designer and builder Sunray Kelly in Bellingham, WA and built passive solar homes in Wanaka, New Zealand. I built tiny houses and treehouses on Japan’s north island, Hokkaido, where we were permitted to use only hand tools due to the proximity of national parks. Most recently I managed a fine woodworking shop in Tukwila, WA.
My goal now is to help make my clients homes more comfortable, beautiful and safe. I love solving problems, fixing broken things, reusing materials whenever possible and building heirlooms that will be in use for years to come. I look forward to working with you.
